Tour de Yorkshire
Tour de Yorkshire is coming to Harrogate…
It’s almost here, the cycling event of the year. The Tour de Yorkshire will take over the streets of Harrogate and the atmosphere will be absolutely buzzing.
From 28th to 30th April, a record 36 cycling teams will take to the road for the 173km race around our county. On Saturday 29th April, we’ll see both the women’s and men’s races sprint to the finish line here in Harrogate, right outside our hotel.
The Fan Zone with food and drink will be set up just 300 metres from our front door, so you’re at the heart of the party with us. The zone does call for us to give up our usual parking spaces, but we’ve got an alternative organised just 500 metres from the hotel. All you need to do is let us know that you need a space, and we’ll post out your parking permit along with directions.
Meals? Join us for a bite to eat anytime from 10am until 9.30pm. Afternoon Tea? If that’s just what you fancy, just join us from noon – it’s only £20 for two people. If you’d like something a little stronger, we’ll be serving two cocktails for just £10 in our bar, from 12 noon right through until 9pm.
All of the race-ready roads do bring with them some traffic calming measures. The majority of those being used in the tournament will be closed for around 40 minutes on average, and in some places the closures will be longer. This is the case for both Parliament Street and Ripon Road in Harrogate, but don’t worry – there are diversions in place. So all you need to do is follow these and you’ll arrive safely at The Yorkshire Hotel.
We’d also recommend leaving with plenty time, just in case you run into some traffic delays en route.
- Follow the diversions in place
- Give yourself plenty of time to travel
- Get in touch with us to organise a parking permit
- Finally (and most importantly) – enjoy the race!
