Harrogate’s First Christmas Song Launched at The Yorkshire Hotel

The Yorkshire Hotel is delighted to have been the launch venue for Merry Christmas Harrogate, a brand-new festive anthem created to celebrate the town’s unique spirit.

Coordinated by Simon Cotton, Managing Director of the HRH Group, and performed by local band The Straymen with guest vocals from Harry Arnison, Harvey, and Isabella Burns, the song captures the warmth of families, community, and the joy of being in Harrogate at Christmas.
The track was first played live on Your Harrogate Radio and is already spreading festive cheer across social media with its official video. It will feature before Harrogate Theatre’s pantomime and throughout the town’s Christmas Fayre, adding a musical heartbeat to the lights, markets, and celebrations that make Harrogate one of the UK’s most Christmassy destinations.
Simon Cotton described the song as “an earworm” that reflects the town’s character and festive atmosphere. With lyrics written by Simon and music arranged by Joe Pearce of the HRH Group, the project embodies Harrogate’s creativity and community spirit. Aiming high, the team hopes the song will climb the charts — proving that Harrogate not only shines with lights and markets but now has its very own soundtrack to the season.
